Philips EE Kits: Links to Philips EE related sites
This page contains links to various sites that present
material and/or designs for the EE kits, or otherwise contain
info that I think is useful when designing with the EE kits.
Please inform me if you want a link to a site to be added.
Sites on the Philips EE Kits:
- Philips EE pages of
Tor Gjerde This is the ultimate site on the Philips
EE kits, and gives a detailed information on all
generations of the EE kits, starting with the Pionier
series in the fifties. I highly recommend this site for a
visit. Note that Tor has also provided PDFs of the EE2000
series construction diagrams.
- A
designers website. Steef Koenen has been the designer
of the EE8/EE20 series of kits, and has a huge collection
of documents (all in Dutch language) covering nearly the
complete spectrum of the EE kits. He is currently
publishing the impressive collection on this site.
- Leo
Snoeren's site contains very detailed pictures of the
EE1000 and EE2000 series kits, plus some rather unknown
intermediate & expansion models
- Norbert Schneider's EE
pages. A huge site (in German) including a valuable,
detailed overview of all components and their electrical
specifications.
- Hans Otten's
EE pages. A Dutch site with a lot of detailed
information especially on the early EE kits (Pionier, EE8/20)
and related ones.
- "Doppelplusspiel",
a German site celebrating the seventies also includes an
overview of the Philips EE kits.
- The website of Piet Blaas (in Dutch) contains the
following small but interesting pages:
- EE1003/4/5
page: contains some nice photographs of a
built EE1005 superhet receiver
- EE20
page: contains nice pictures of an EE20
receiver, and a drawing of a combined EE20 and ME1200
sirene project
- ME1200
page: contains very nice pictures of the ME1200
kits, and a combined EE20 and ME1200 project: a
noise-controlled car
- Oliver Scholz has put technical information on the web
for reconstruction of the EE2007
and EE2008
special components (note that these are at different
websites)
Obtaining Philips EE Kits:
- www.ebay.de At the
German Ebay site there is still a considerable activity
concering the Philips Kits. Sometimes even unopened kits
in excellent condition are offered. Primary source of EE
kits today. You may find the following search strings
useful to locate most of them:
- Philips EE
- Philips Experi*
- Philips Bauk*
- Schuco Elektr*
Links to electronics circuits:
Although a large number of sites on electronic circuits exist,
I found that the following few cover almost all of them. Many of
the kits presented can be prototyped directly with the Philips EE
kits:
Tutorials on electronics:
- Ian
Purdie's site . This site is a well known and very
useful site on numerous aspects of electronics (data,
circuits, formulae, links etc.) and incorporates a
discussion forum too.
- UK
radioamateur site . A very helpful site with
essential information on RF topics like inductance,
reactance, tuned circuit characteristics, bandwidth etc.,
presented in a compact format. Recommended for designers
of RF circuits.
